Why Not Quit?
Discouragement is a powerful force. For me, it's often the quickest way to derail my progress. When God reveals something to me, I believe it wholeheartedly and expect it to manifest immediately. But often, His timing is different. He shows me glimpses of the future, and the fulfillment comes in its perfect time—not mine.
When I share these visions and they don't materialize right away, discouragement sets in. Negative self-talk creeps in:
"You did it again. You jumped ahead. Nobody wants to do this. It's probably just a stupid idea."
I wish I could say that in those moments, I immediately turn to God. But more often than not, I find myself wrestling with doubt and frustration.
I get it. Waiting is hard. Trusting the process is hard. Believing that what God has shown you will come to pass is hard. But remember, He doesn't show us things to tease us. If He has revealed something to you and you're sure about it, first seek confirmation. Ensure it aligns with Scripture and God's character. If it does, wait for it.
Habakkuk 2:2–3 reminds us:
“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”
Sometimes, the delay isn't about you. It's about the timing of everyone and everything involved. Just because God has shown you something doesn't mean all the pieces are in place yet. Trust that He is orchestrating everything perfectly. The Sun+2talkSPORT+2The Washington Post+2
Consider the story of Sovereignty, the 2025 Kentucky Derby winner. He wasn't born a champion. He underwent training, faced challenges, and had to grow into his potential. His owners, trainers, and jockey invested time, effort, and resources, believing in his future success. And when the time was right, they reaped the rewards.Triple Crown Races+5A Sea Of Blue+5The Sun+5
Similarly, in your life—whether it's a new relationship, a financial breakthrough, or a health transformation—this is a season to build. But building often requires deconstruction. Old mindsets, habits, and fears may need to be cleared away to make room for the new.
So, stay calm. Silence the negative voices. Speak God's truth over your situation. Believe in what He has shown you. It will come to pass.
And remember, I'm speaking to myself as much as to you.
